Is that MDMA Pure?
IS THAT MDMA PURE?
MDMA, AKA Molly or Ecstacy, is a stimulant, emotion enhancing, and mildly hallucinogenic drug that’s most popular at raves, music festivals, and nightclubs. This “club drug” works by dramatically increasing serotonin and dopamine activity in the brain. Pure MDMA is found in crystals that are often consumed in a capsule (looks similar to a vitamin). The standard dose is a “point,” or 0.1 grams by weight.
While it’s possible to overdose solely from MDMA, most MDMA-related deaths result from mixing it with other drugs - intentionally or by accidentally taking laced MDMA.
MDMA is often laced or replaced with Meth, 5-APB, 6-APB, MDA, or PMA/PMMA. All of these drugs mimic the effects of MDMA, but are stronger and more neurotoxic than MDMA. There are several other substances that dealers could add to MDMA as filler (especially in pressed pills) or even replace the MDMA altogether, such as caffeine powder, kitchen sugar, bath salts, and even Fentanyl.
How often is MDMA really laced? Multiple studies since 2000 indicate that less than 40% of drugs sold as MDMA/Molly/Ecstasy were pure MDMA, which is why it’s so important to TEST YOUR DRUGS!
There are also special lab techniques to test the purity of Molly. You can send a sample to Drugsdata.org for the most accurate and anonymous lab testing, or you can learn to test it yourself with various substances called “reagents” that cause a color change when a specific substance is present! However, these “reagents” do NOT indicate full purity or potency, they only indicate contamination.
If you didn’t get your drugs from a pharmacy, always test them for fentanyl with TACO’s test strips. Due to the high potency of fentanyl, just an a few grains of sand worth can be fatal. Order our test strips for free on Duffl, get a full MDMA test kit here, or contact us for more information.
