What Even is 2C-B?

What Even is That? 2C-B

🦄🌈2C-B, short for the chemical name 2,5-dimethoxy-4-bromophenethylamine, is a synthetic psychoactive drug with stimulant, psychedelic, and emotion enhancing properties. It may also be referred to as Nexus, Venus, Bromos, or Toonies🐰

🔬🧪First invented between the 1950s and 1970s, 2C-B is classified as an “entactogen,” a group of psychoactive drugs that produce an “open mind state.” For reference, MDMA (Ecstasy) is also classified as an entactogen. 2C-B has been reported to have stimulant effects at low doses below 10mg and increasing psychedelic effects at doses between 10-20mg🔮

👅👃2C-B may be consumed by swallowing a pill or capsule, or by snorting powder. It is important to note that snorting 2C-B will cause effects faster and more strongly, so additional caution should be taken with dosing. Snorting 2C-B is more likely to result in negative effects🙃

💊💊2C-B may be found in powder, pill, or capsule form. The normal recreational dose of a 10mg pill or capsule is reported to cause feelings of euphoria, energy, changes in color and shape perception, and increased sociability. Physical effects include increased heart rate and pupil dilation. Excessive doses above 25mg can cause overheating, high blood pressure, auditory hallucinations, agitation, and aggression😵‍💫

🤢😰 At least 10% of 2C-B users report negative effects including trembling, sweating, nausea, abdominal pain, high heart rate, and jaw clenching. Seizures have been known to occur in users who consume more than 20 mg or 2 doses, but have not been reported by users of the standard 10mg dose⚠️

🧠⚡️Although there is limited research available about 2C-B’s mechanism of action, it is currently understood to increase the neurotransmitters Serotonin and Norepinephrine. Serotonin and Norepinephrine have many implications in the brain, but in the context of 2C-B are responsible for its mood-enhancing and energy-inducing effects, respectively💡
